Quality content is the best thing you can do for your publishing business. But the truth is many people do not know how to write high-quality content for blog posts or what it actually means in the minimum state.
In this post, you’ll understand what quality content is and why it is important.
Also, you’ll see practical ways in which you can write high-quality blog posts.

What is Quality Content?
Quality content is often confused with high-ranking articles on the search engine. There are too many garbage articles that rank well on search engines.
Have you noticed the top 5 articles for a particular keyword have very similar content, ideas, and even H2s? Except that the words are different. That is no quality content.
Actually, top-quality content is a write-up that is unique and provides real value to (human) readers rather than just satisfying the search engine.
Most content out there just tries to satisfy the search engine and has secondary importance to readers.
To really understand the subject matter, let’s consider the major components of quality content.

Components of High Quality content
Components of quality content are those factors that make content truly valuable to any human reader.
Let’s highlight them.
1. Uniqueness
Uniqueness is far beyond just passing the plagiarism score. In fact, that should be the very least of what unique content is.
What then is uniqueness in content writing?
Uniqueness means having a different narrative and structure on a particular subject matter that may not be new. In addition, uniqueness is in other words a new way to look at or understand a subject matter.
For example, how to write quality content is not a new topic. There are a plethora of articles on this subject matter.
However, you’ll hardly find an article that has this exact concept, structure, and angle of explaining the subject matter. (If at all there are, they must have copied Digital Acce.)
What’s more, I drafted the content off my head based on my experience over the years.
Therefore, for your content to be truly unique, you need to tick the following boxes:
- Even if you do research on other websites, do you copy their ideas and structure too? Never do that.
- Research is good. However, you must read to understand so you can write in your own words and add your own meaning to a subject matter.
- It is easier to write unique content if you have a passion (for) and/or expertise in a niche or topic. Choose a niche you love and have sound knowledge or are willing to understand.

2. Value
Quality content must provide true value to readers.
Value in content writing is a product of readers’ satisfaction.
When readers are satisfied with your content and all major areas of a subject matter are well addressed, such content is thought to be valuable.
Also, you must understand that valuable content does not necessarily mean long content. Read my guide on how long your blog post should be.
In addition, the uniqueness of your content adds to its value.
Most topics or key points are not new.
Readers just need a new way to understand a key point they already knew. If your content is that content, your readers would see it as valuable.
3. Logical structure
One important component of quality content is a logical structure.
What does it mean when an article is said to have a good logical structure? It simply means sequentially building your content or subheadings in a way that makes sense to anyone reading to understand it.
For example, imagine having the subheading “what is quality content?” as the last or second-to-the-last subheading. Does it make sense that way? Obviously, no.
The point here is that quality content must have a logical order that is easily comprehensible.
In other words, not putting the cat before the dog… in your content writing.
4. Simplicity
If your content is difficult to understand, it is not good enough.
Every top-quality content must be very simple to understand. Spare the vocabulary for the school thesis and essay.
Use simple and common words in your expressions. And if you must use illustrations, use ones that are common to everyday life irrespective of location, language, or culture.
In addition, simplicity means having shorter paragraphs – maybe one or two sentences per paragraph. And fewer words per sentence too.
In case you do not know, simplicity is one of the key ways to improve your earnings from Display Ads.
A general rule of thumb is less than 20 words per sentence for easy readability.
5. Accuracy
Misleading your audience is the worst thing to do to them.
Sometimes, an article might seem valuable, simple, and have a good logical structure. However, some data or information in the article may be wrong or outdated, thereby leading readers to draw a wrong conclusion.
Every top-quality content must be factually accurate.
In addition, top-quality content must be grammatically accurate as well.
Imagine reading an article filled with grammatical blunders or wrong spellings. It sure doesn’t satisfy readers.
The point here is that for content to be of top quality, it must be accurate in all aspects.
(It is normal to find a few errors in some top-quality articles due to typos or human error. This is inevitable. If the majority of the article(s) is error-free, it could still be top-quality content.)
Grammarly is a good option but first consider if it’s worth it for you.
6. Appropriate use of media
Today’s content writing has gone beyond just putting words together.
There is a need to add some visual aids to your content. These may include images, infographics, or videos.
If your article is just a wall of texts (and Ads), you are likely not going to capture the attention of your audience as much as you would with images and videos included.
Therefore, it is necessary to embed relevant videos in your content or add images or designs.
I strongly suggest that you learn how to convert your blogpost to videos. Why? Videos are more important for SEO than images.
Why quality content is important
Writing quality content is important for the following reasons:
- Readers are thoroughly satisfied.
- Potentially higher traffic and earnings
- Bounce rate reduces
- Average session time increases
- Quality content stands the test of time or Google core updates.
